Project M Beta: VALORANT Clone!

Project M

Since its release in 2020, VALORANT has been a massive success, so much so that RIOT recently announced plans to port the game to mobile platforms in order to capitalize on the potential of the fastest-growing gaming market - the mobile gaming market.

But looks like someone beat RIOT to it!

Enter Project M, a new mobile tactical shooter game that appears to be heavily influenced by VALORANT at first glance, but only when you look closely do you notice the undeniable similarities between the two games.

NetEase, a Chinese game developer that competes directly with Tencent, RIOT's parent company, appears to have chosen to replicate VALORANT's success in the most literal way possible - by cloning/copying the game itself.

Even if you aren't looking for them, the similarities are pretty obvious, such as the not-so-obvious name Project M (VALORANT was originally named 'Project A' before the name VALORANT came to be). Most of the signature elements that make VALORANT a hit can be found in its Chinese clone, Project M, from the visual aesthetics to the gameplay experience.

From character design to game interface to character abilities to settings, it's clear that someone else's homework was copied with some changes. (meme alert!)

It will be interesting to see how and if RIOT responds to NetEase legally. In case you'd like to be cloned as well! The game is available for Beta-registration in the Google Play Store. What do you think about this? Do let us know.
