Due to the uncertainty surrounding the DOTA 2 TI10 tournament, the CSGO community is now stressed over the 2021 CSGO Major, which will likewise be held in Stockholm. The current year's Major is supposed to be hosted in Stockholm by PGL, from October 23 to November 7. The tournament will have a record $2 million prize pool and will include 24 of the best CSGO groups from around the world going after the top spot.
In a recent new blog entry, Valve talked about the uncertainty surrounding the greatest Dota 2 occasion, The International 10. The event was scheduled to occur this year in Stockholm, Sweden, however, because of the continuous pandemic, the Swedish government refused to reclassify the championship as an elite sporting event, following covid protocols. Moreover, the government isn't ready to incorporate esports in the sports federation.
After the 2020 CSGO Major was dropped because of the pandemic, the PGL Major will be the first LAN event with a live crowd following a gap of two years. What's more, as such Valve has no plans yet to move the scene from Stockholm. Being focused on the PGL Major being held in Stockholm, it is intriguing to see how Valve manages to pull this out.
Sweden holds a special place in the CSGO community for having managed to stay at the top of the CSGO scene for a long time with some of the best CSGO players in the world. With the first-ever Major 2013 held in Stockholm, it can be considered the home of CSGO.
It’s all but natural that Valve would be committed to hosting the PGL Major 2021 in Stockholm.
Valve has yet to make any statements about the situation and is considering all options to get things right for the PGL Major 2021 in Stockholm. If everything goes as planned, this will be PGL's third Major in Stockholm.
